Questions and Answers:

What is auto insurance, and why do I need it?
An auto insurance policy is a contract between you and an insurance company. You pay a premium, and in exchange, the insurance company promises to pay for specific car-related financial losses during the term of the policy.

In almost every state the law requires a driver to carry the minimum amount of insurance. And if you are uninsured and have an accident where you are at fault, you will have to pay all the damages. Which can be financially devastating especially if a lawsuit is won.

When purchasing automobile insurance what should I consider?
Minimum liability limits of 100/300/100, optional coverages - rental reimbursement coverage, towing coverage, coverage from an "A" rated company.

Should I purchase the insurance when I rent a car?
We recommend you purchase coverage through the rental car company due to possible gaps in coverage.

What is collision coverage?
Collision is the loss you incur when your automobile collides with another vehicle or object like a telephone pole.

What is comprehensive coverage?
Insures operator's automobile against loss by fire, theft, hail or other physical damage hazards, including glass breakage.

How can I lower my automobile insurance rates?
There are several things you can do to lower the cost of your automobile insurance.
  • One way is to change your deductible. By raising your deductible you may lower the cost of your automobile insurance almost 10%.
  • You can also look for discounts that you may be entitled to. Some examples of discounts that may be available are: multiple cars under the same policy, carrying a homeowners policy with the same insurance company, different groups or associations, and good student discounts and driver improvement courses are offered by some companies.
  • Another is to look for competitive pricing. An independent agent works with many companies and can provide you comparative rates and insure that your are getting the same coverage.
